Bishops’ Company Gathering 2024
The Bishops’ Company for Mission was established in 2003 as a gathering of lay people whose financial generosity helps to support mission and ministry activities of the Eastern Synod, above and beyond the regular budget. Join us this year in welcoming our new Bishop Carla Blakley to the Eastern Synod. Information and tickets will be made available soon.

Peacemakers Summer Day Camp
Hello from a fellow Lutheran in Kitchener-Waterloo!
I was at BBQ today at which an Anglican friend confided to me that her goal for the year was to show her kids that they weren’t the only Christian kids in the city. Much like me, she wants her children to belong to a community of peers who are having big conversations about faith, spirituality, and everyday life.
Peacemakers Summer Day Camp explores themes of peacemaking in local and global contexts. Each day will focus on a peacemaker from a different region of the world, including Wangarī Maathai, Thích Nhất Hạnh, The Great Peacemaker, Oscar Romero, and Malala Yousafzai.
We will engage with peacemaking tools that campers can use to work toward peace in their peer communities and to create peace in their hearts. We look forward to the leadership of several musical guests who will teach us songs of peace and justice from around the world. We have also lined up a slate of special guests who will be sharing their culture and personal stories with us.
Since registration opened the camp has been filling up, so please be sure to register soon! Get ready for camp like you’ve never seen it before!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
