Join us Saturday Dec. 20th 2025 @ 4pm at Mount Zion Waterloo for our German Christmas Service.
A Not Totally Dramatic Reading of Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol”
Do the shopping malls have you down? Are the Amazon delivery trucks irking you? Is Mariah Cary really the Queen of Christmas? Does the word “hallmark” cause a spike in your blood pressure? Perhaps as Leonard Cohen said, “There Ain’t No Cure For Love” but there is a cure for the Shopping Mall, Amazon, Mariah Cary, Hallmark Blues.
Please consider attending a reading, in five staves, of the beloved classic “A Christmas Carol” at St. John’s. The readers will be Andris Kalnins, Jeff Kargus, Karen Greening, Maureen Rueckwald, and Anda Sprudzs. The Master of Ceremonies will be Pastor Sylvia Poetschke. Between staves there will be a group singalong of Christmas Carol with the accompaniment of Lynne Zander on the mighty pipe organ!
After the reading and singing, all will be welcomed to the church basement for treats, sweets, and beverages.
There is no cost for this event. It is a gift from the people of St. John’s to the people of Arnprior, McNab/Braeside and the rest of the Ottawa Valley. It is a thank you for the wonderful people who donate time and money all year to their brothers, sisters, children, and elders of the community. Please come relax, enjoy and see where the spirit leads you.
