The Bishops’ Company for Mission was established in 2003 as a gathering of lay people whose financial generosity helps to support mission and ministry activities of the Eastern Synod, above and beyond the regular budget. It is with great delight that we invite you to the ordination of Rev. Carla Blakley as Bishop of the Eastern Synod. The ordination service will take place Saturday, September 28, 2024 at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, 54 Benton St., Kitchener, ON N2G 3H2 starting at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow.

Rostered Leaders are invited to vest and process for the service. The liturgical colour is red. Please be at the church and vested 20 minutes before the service begins. Please inform Liz Zehr (ezehr@elcic.ca or 519-743-1461 ext 111) by September 25th if you will be vesting so that we can reserve seating for you.

For those travelling from out of the area, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 105 King St. E. Kitchener, ON N2G 2K8. Rooms will be held till September 10, 2024.

Please pray for Bishop-Elect Carla and for our whole synod as we prepare for this celebration.
