YAYA Grant Information Letter

Posted: June 4, 2020 |

Dear Ministry Partner,

God’s grace and peace to you!

It is that time of year when the Eastern Synod Youth and Young Adult Ministry Committee (ES-YAYA) is beginning to prepare for its annual budget meeting.  In order to assist us in allocating funds, you are once again invited to apply for funding for your youth and young adult ministry initiative.

Who can apply? Any youth leader, youth worker, congregation, council, pastor in the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Repeat applications will be accepted. Remember, the term “youth” refers to those ages 0-12, and “young adult” refers to those ages 13-30. Please use the attached application form as a guide to create your application.

When are applications due?  September 30th, 2020. Please note! No extensions to the deadline will be offered this year. Please ensure your applications are submitted on time.

Where do we send the application?  Electronically, applications may be sent to the Rev. Christie Morrow-Wolfe, Assistant to the Bishop, (cmorrow-wolfe@elcic.ca).  Or, you may apply online at: www.esyouth-elcic.ca In the regular post, you may address it as above and mail it to: 46 Church St. Stratford, ON N5A 2R1

When will a decision be made?  The Youth and Young Adult Ministry Committee will be meeting in late October. Recommendations from this meeting will be sent to the Eastern Synod Council for approval when they meet in early November. Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed after the Synod Council meeting.

ES-YAYA remains committed to funding new and existing youth and young adult ministry initiatives at the local level. Be creative! Tell us how your initiative will impact not only your community of faith, but the community at-large as well.  We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your partnership!

Rev. Christie Morrow-Wolfe

Assistant to the Bishop
