2016 Christmas Message From Bishop Dr. Munib A. Younan

Luke 1:37
“Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I am a virgin?’ The angel said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God. And now, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month for her who was said to be barren.
For nothing will be impossible with God.’”

Salaam and grace to you from Jerusalem, in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

CLWR’s Giving Tuesday supports effective strategy to reduce hunger

When Giving Tuesday rolls around November 29, you’ll have the opportunity to support Canadian Lutheran World Relief’s hunger and food-related projects.

For more than 25 years, Canadian Lutheran World Relief and other non-government organizations (NGOs) have asked for donations to help reduce world hunger and recent reports indicate the efforts are working. Global hunger is declining as NGO programs work with small-scale farmers and food producers in developing countries to help them feed themselves and their families.

For over a year, ELCIC members have been engaged in the ELCIC Reformation Challenge as one of the ways to mark the 2015-17 emphasis the church has been lifting up around the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

The announcement that the goal to sponsor 500 refugees has been achieved was met with great excitement.
