POSITION OVERVIEW
The community of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Kitchener, ON seeks a Director of Music due to the upcoming retirement of our incumbent. The successful candidate will be competent to assume choral and keyboard music leadership with a pastoral focus, a willingness to embrace Community Music and actively contribute to our nationally broadcast bi-weekly television ministry/worship on the CTV network.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized individual, expected to conduct weekly
rehearsals with the choir (plus 5 paid choral scholars), coordinate with clergy, administration
and the Worship and Arts committee as well as engage with the wider Kitchener-Waterloo
community. The appointee will meet periodically with the Church Board of Directors to evaluate progress and assess future plans.

RESOURCES
• Include a well-maintained 3 manual Hallman organ with 48 ranks and a 3 rank Brunzema
portative. Upgrades to Hallman are imminent as part of St. Peter’s forthcoming renovations. • A Yamaha Clavinova digital piano and a Yamaha upright which are all in good condition
• 3 octaves of Schulmerich handbells.

SALARY
This is a Part-time, Independent Contractor position based on approximately 20 hours per week. Remuneration is commensurate with experience and qualifications as outlined by the RCCO Table of Recommended Salaries.
